Keyword selection rules

Before you start to solve the issue of creating a website, you need to clearly understand what the result should be "at the output", and already on the basis of it to determine the most important tasks. This means that the phrase he typed in the search box, the most fully corresponds to the content of the web-page and the published text on it is interesting to him. In this case, the search engine showed this page as the most relevant query. This is already - targeted traffic. He is the bottom line for which the site is created. Stable high targeted search traffic provides an influx of visitors to the resource, some of whom become your clients or customers, and they pay you money, and this is the main goal of any business project.

Number of search queries

When deciding on the traffic received, you should not forget about its volume - "quantity always transforms into quality". One of the most important tasks of search engine promotion of the site is to increase targeted traffic. Promoting it only 6-8 competitive queries, you will not be able to provide a significant influx of target audience. The more semantic kernel, the more significant will be the site traffic. Moreover, high-frequency search queries should be promoted on a par with low and medium-frequency. It is recommended to develop the project on 30-40 keyword phrases.

How to choose the right keywords?

Let's take as a basis the fact that quality (targeted traffic) multiplied by quantity (non-targeted visits) gives the maximum result. For effective site promotion it is recommended to form a semantic core of 40-50 keywords corresponding to high and medium-frequency search queries.
When selecting promising phrases, among other things, it is necessary to take into account the region. For example, if you provide services of a professional photographer in Moscow, then the keywords should be selected with this region in mind. The phrase "photographer services" will be less in demand and more financially costly to promote than "photographer services in Moscow".
If you have a project is still "young", little page, with a small financial budget, the keywords should be low and medium-frequency, as in the TOP 10 site will not get anyway. As a rule, it is impossible to high-frequency and expensive queries (for example, "photographer", "website development"), to bring a "fresh" resource with a scarce presence of textual content in the top ten. For such web-sites it makes sense to form a core of semantics from a large number of non-competitive queries. In this case, saves budget and increases the effectiveness of site promotion.
The key expressions you choose should be as natural as possible and easily incorporated into the text. For example, instead of "private house heating system", it is more correct to say "heating system for a private house".
Yandex search engine has a tool Wordstat-Yandex (keyword statistics), with the help of which you can easily pick up the required phrases and form a core of semantics. Do not forget about your region (top right, next to the "select" button).

Stages of compiling the semantic core of the site:

1. Decide on the list and title of pages to be created (the more the better, at least 20).

2. Prepare 60-70 word combinations for which the resource will be searched in search engines (in your opinion).

3. Check the compiled list of phrases in the Yandex-Wordstat tool, selecting 40-50 of them with the maximum frequency of requests.

4. The obtained list of word combinations should be divided into groups of 4-5 pieces for each future web page.

After that, you can prepare specifications for writing texts for all pages and place orders on the content exchange, thus announcing a tender among copywriters.
