Copypaste

Today the problem of stealing graphic and textual content from successful resources is very relevant, and this is understandable. The need for high-quality, relevant and interesting articles is increasing every day - they are necessary for search engine promotion of the site.
New text content exchanges are registered every month. On the one hand, such services allow everyone to prove themselves as a writer, but on the other hand, they are a comfortable environment for fans of easy profit, making it difficult for the customer to find really talented performers.
It is not uncommon when creating a custom article for the site, its "author" uses generated text, which is commonly referred to as copypaste. In fact - this is a primitive copying of already published text information from one or more sources, and placing it on the site without making any changes.

The dubious benefits of copypasta

This technology of text content creation is widely used by both unscrupulous executors and resource owners themselves. Its attractiveness can be described in three words - easy, fast, free. There is no need to spend time and effort to prepare detailed technical specifications, search for an experienced copywriter, and most importantly - to spend money paying for his services.
In order to fill all the pages of a website with stolen text, it takes just a few clicks of the mouse. However, the use of non-unique content is dangerous for the reputation of the resource, so before you decide to engage in copypaste, it is worth learning in detail about the possible negative consequences.

Copypaste is creative suicide for a performer

Often debut authors, trying to create an article in a few minutes, resort to generating text by copying and program processing of individual fragments of "other people's" materials. However, they will be disappointed, because all content exchanges and serious independent customers analyze the text for plagiarism, using special programs or online tools.
In fact, for the performer to try to submit such work means committing creative suicide. Copywriters who put non-unique texts up for sale on the exchange are penalized with fines, a reduction in rating, and even the blocking of their personal account.
For an aspiring writer, the rating is his reputation and an opportunity to earn money. Therefore, those who want to develop and earn money in the field of article writing should abandon the idea of even partial copying of extraneous materials.

Copypasta for the site owner - exclusion from search results

Most web-projects are created to generate profit. For this purpose, the site must be indexed by search engines and occupy the first positions in the search results of Yandex and Google. Only websites with useful, informative, popular, reliable and unique content have a chance to reach such peaks.
A few percent (up to 15%) overlap of text with other sources is not critical. But if the material published on the page completely or by more than 85% duplicates an article from another resource that has already been indexed, then copypasta - deliberate theft of textual content with copyright infringement - is in evidence.
Search robots, detecting plagiarism, automatically exclude this page from their databases (in the absence of an active link to the author's material), and if there are many such pages, the entire resource. This leads to the fact that several sections or the entire site fall under filters, are not shown in the search results, and users searching for queries do not see them.
Thus, all the previously done work: the design of the project, the purchase of external links, promotion in social networks, will actually be in vain. Therefore, it is unlikely that saving on unique articles is worth putting a fat cross on your business project.

What is the right way to handle copypasta?

In some cases it is difficult to do without copypaste. For example, it makes no sense to change the technical specifications of a cell phone or its operating instructions. When quoting certain provisions of legislation or someone else's statements, you should also scrupulously adhere to the original source.
If the owner or administrator of the site believes that certain information will be useful to the target audience, it is quite possible to use copypaste.

The following rules must be strictly adhered to:

1. It is obligatory to place an active link to the page of the original source, so that the author has no opportunity to make any claims.

2. Do not use texts copied from one resource - the more sources, the better.

3. Copy the article not in full, but only partially, and preferably from "young" and not promoted sites.

4. Constantly update the text content. To attract search engine robots, even with a large volume of posted copypaste, it is necessary to periodically publish unique articles on the site.

How can you protect unique content on a website from being copied?

Here are the ground rules:

• Spell out in the text of the domain name of the site and put links to internal pages to make it inconvenient for copypasters to edit such materials.

• Supplement your articles with watermarked images - as a rule, plagiarizers do not copy such images.

• When publishing fresh articles on the site, immediately make notes about them in social networks. In this case, search engines will quickly index the new page and record it as the author's material (original).

• Use special scripts that protect text information from copying.
